Restraint Equipment

 

AD/RES/23 Davis FDC-9400B Series Safety Belts 8/89

Applicability: All Davis FDC-6400B series safety belts with part numbers listed in Requirement document.

 

Requirement: Remove from service all safety belts listed in Davis Aircraft Products SB No. 1 and replace with an approved safety belt.

 

Note 1: The removed belt may be modified by replacing the adapter in accordance with the Davis Service Bulletin.

 

Note 2: FAA AD 89-09-02. Amdt 39-6102 refers.

 

Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service after 10 August, 1989 or at the next scheduled inspection for Maintenance Release issue after 10 August 1989 whichever is later.

 

Background:  Davis has received reports of cracks in the buckle cover latch. Potential exists for the buckle release mechanism to jam under emergency evacuation conditions.
