Pacific Scientific Buckle - Agricultural Aircraft 3/89
Applicability: All safety harnesses used in agricultural aircraft.
Requirement: 1. Inspect to determine if Pacific Scientific buckle, part number 1101550 all dash numbers, is used.
2. Remove Pacific Scientific buckle P/N 1101550 all dash numbers, from service in agricultural aircraft.
Note: This can be achieved by:
(a) Replacing the harness by another approved harness which does not use this buckle; or
(b) Replacing the buckle with a different type which has been approved for that harness.
Compliance: Before 31 December 1989.
Background: Following an accident, investigations have revealed that some buckles may have retaining toggles manufactured from material which is inadequate for 25g capability. Amdt 1 clarifies the P/No applicability.
