Sky Enterprises (Republic) RC-3 (Seabee) Series Aeroplanes
AD/RC-3/1 Lift Strut Fittings 10/99
Applicability: All Model RC-3 aircraft.
Requirement: Inspect in accordance with Republic Aviation Service Bulletin No.25.
Note: FAA AD 53-23-03 refers.
Compliance: Before 7 January 2000, unless accomplished in the 3 months prior to 7 October 1999; thereafter at intervals not to exceed 6 calendar months.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 7 October 1999.
Background: The FAA received reports of cases of severe corrosion of the left and right upper and lower lift strut fittings, fuselage wing lift strut fittings, and wing lift strut fittings. The strength of these fittings is of primary importance to the structural integrity of the aircraft.
