Rolls Royce Turbine Engines - RB211 Series
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/RB211/18 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Low Pressure Fuel Tube Assembly 8/2000
Applicability: Rolls Royce RB211-535E4-37, -535E4-37/10, -535E4-37/11, -535E4-37/12, -535E4- 37/14, -535E4-37/16, 535E4-37/17, -535E4-37/19, -35E4-37/20, -535E4-37/23,
-535E4-B-37, -535E4-B-37/15, -535E4-B-37/20 and -535E4-B-37/21 engines prior
to serial No 31513 fitted to Boeing 757 series aircraft.
Requirement: Replace Aeroquip manufactured L.P. fuel tubes in accordance with Rolls Royce Service Bulletin RB.211-73-C297 Revision 2 dated May 15, 1998.
Note: UK CAA AD 007-10-97 and AD 008-07-94 refers.
Compliance: Unless previously accomplished; prior to 30 August 2000. This Amendment becomes effective on 10 August 2000.
Background: This amendment raised to mandate replacement of the Aeroquip L.P. fuel tube assembly with IMI Marston L.P. fuel tube assembly. This action is required because fuel leaks can occur in the flexible hose section of the Aeroquip L.P. fuel tube assembly.
This Directive originally raised due to possible fuel leakage at the joint between the HP fuel pump and the L.P. fuel tube from the L.P. filter.
The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 5 January 1995.
