SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Radio Communication and Navigation Equipment
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AD/RAD/70 Aerodata AeroNav II and III Display Units 1/2001
Applicability: Aerodata Flugmesstechnik GmbH, Germany AeroNav series II/III display units Model CDU-200 including Revision B and Model CDU-210 including Revision A.
Note 1: These units are known to be installed on, but not limited to, the following aircraft:
Raytheon Aircraft Company Dornier
Eurocopter Bell Helicopter
Beech Model 200 and 300 DO-128
EC-135, EC-155, SA 330-J and SA 332-L1
Bell 212
Requirement: 1. Remove the display units from service and return the units to the manufacturer for exchange in accordance with Aerodata Flugmesstechnik GmbH Service Bulletins SB-AN-34-0100E dated 1 January 2000 and SB-AN-34-0200E dated 14 January 2000.
2. Display units Model CDU-200, including Revision B, and Model CDU-210, including Revision A, may not be fitted to any aeroplane to replace an installed display unit.

Compliance: For Requirement 1 - Before 25 February 2001.
For Requirement 2 - As of the effective date of this Directive.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 25 January 2001.

Background: The equipment manufacturer has advised that under certain conditions the displays are unreadable in sunlight. This Directive requires that the displays be removed and returned to the manufacturer for exchange.
