AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

AD/PW100/11 Mechanical Fuel Control - Inspection 10/2002
Applicability: All Pratt and Whitney Canada (P&WC) PW123, PW123B, PW123C, PW123D, PW123E, PW123AF, PW124B, PW125B, PW126, PW126A, PW127, PW127B,
PW127C, PW127E, PW127F, PW127G, PW127J engines fitted with Honeywell Mechanical Fuel Control Units (MFCU) that have not been modified per
P&WC SB 21562.
Requirement: 1. Inspect the MFCU per P&WC SB 21669.
2. Repeat inspection of the MFCU per P&WC SB 21669.
3. Replace the MFCU with a unit modified per P&WC SB 21562, Rev 2 or later.
Note: Transport Canada AD CF-2002-34 refers.
Compliance: 1. Requirement 1: Carry out initial inspection within 400 flight hours, or at the next aircraft “A” check which ever occurs later after the effective date of this directive. If the MFCU does not meet the inspection criteria, replace it with a serviceable one before next flight.
2. Requirement 2: At intervals not to exceed 1200 flight hours or aircraft “3A” check whichever occurs later after the initial inspection. If the MFCU does not meet the inspection criteria, replace it with a serviceable one before next flight.
3. Requirement 3: Within 4500 flight hours or 24 months which ever occurs first after the effective date of this directive. This modification constitutes terminating action for repetitive inspection per Requirement 2.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 3 October 2002.
