SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Pratt and Whitney Canada Turbine Engines - PW100 Series

AD/PW100/10 Inter-Compressor Case Fire - Containment 5/2002

Applicability: All Pratt and Whitney Canada (P&WC) PW118, PW120, PW120A, and PW121 engines not incorporating P&WC SB 20914.

Requirement: Action per P&WC SB 20914 Revision 4 dated 14 December 2001.

Note: Transport Canada AD CF-2002-10 refers.

Compliance: At the next scheduled engine shop visit, or before 31 December 2003, which ever occurs first.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 16 May 2002.

Background: P&WC SB 20914 helps to contain an intercompressor case fire. AD/PW100/5 made this SB mandatory for high-powered PW100 series engines. This AD extends the applicability to some additional PW100 series engines. AD/PW100/6 mandates a set of modifications to prevent the occurrence of intercompressor case fire.
