Pratt and Whitney Piston Engines

 

AD/PW-P/7 Operating Restrictions - Placarding NK

Applicability: R1830 series. (Series 'C' 16:9 gearing).

 

Requirement: 1. The following operating restrictions shall be observed in all aircraft in which are installed Pratt & Whitney R1830 engines fitted with the propellers, blades or non- splined reduction gears as listed below:-

(a) 23E50 propellers installed and engines fitted with non-spline type reduction gears

Avoid continuous operation within the ranges of 1550 to 1650 r.p.m.

(b) Blades 6353A-19 6153A-18

6261A-0

6461A-0

fitted and vibration absorber as described in Hamilton SB No. 96 not installed.

Avoid continuous operation within the ranges of 1900 to 2050 r.p.m.

(c) Engines fitted with non- spline-type reduction gear (regardless of what propellers are installed)

Avoid take-off operation within the ranges of 2450 to 2700 r.p.m.

2. A suitable placard defining the restrictions shall be displayed in all aeroplanes affected.
