Propellers - Fixed Pitch

Wooden Propellers - Inspection 7/89
Applicability: All fixed pitch wooden and Hoffman composite series propellers. Requirement: 1. Newly installed propellers: Check the hub bolt nuts for tightness.
2. All propellers:
(a) Check the propeller for track.
(b) Check the hub bolt nuts for tightness.
(c) Inspect sheathing and tipping for looseness, separation of soldered joints, loose screws, cracks and corrosion.
3. Spinners, if fitted must be removed to carry out the above inspections.
Note: For Hoffmann composite series propellers refer to Owners Manual No. EO110-74 for further inspection and rectification guidelines.
Compliance: For para. 1 - After the first flight following each installation.
For para. 2 - After intervals not exceeding 100 hours time in service from installation or twelve months whichever occurs first.
Note: In addition, it is recommended that the inspections of para. 2 above be repeated regardless of the time since last 100 hourly check, under the following circumstances:
(a) when there has been a significant change in the average ambient humidity, due to a seasonal change, or to a change in aircraft locality and,
(b) prior to first flight after the aircraft has been idle for an extended period.
