SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.


 

Pilatus PC-12 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/PC-12/44 Main Landing Gear Actuator 11/2004

 

Applicability:  All Model PC-12 and PC-12/45 aircraft, serial numbers MSN 101 through MSN 560, and equipped with main landing gear actuators part number 960.30.01.103 with serial numbers 830E through 881E.

 

Requirement:  Action in accordance with Pilatus Aircraft PC-12 Service Bulletin No. 32-017, dated 3 August 2004, or a later revision approved by the FOCA.

 

Note: Switzerland FOCA AD HB-2004-330 refers.

 

Compliance:  Before the accumulation of 1,000 hours total time in service on affected main landing gear actuator(s), but not later than 12 months after 28 October 2004.

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 28 October 2004.

 

Background: The manufacturer has determined that some components of certain main landing gear actuators have had incorrect heat treatment during manufacture. Components in this condition can decrease the specified fatigue life of the actuators.
