SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 



Pilatus PC-12 Series Aeroplanes

 

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE


For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

 

AD/PC-12/24 Powerplant Tube/Pipe Assemblies 3/2000 DM

Applicability: PC-12 and PC-12/45 aeroplanes Manufacturer Serial Number (MSN) MSN 101 through MSN 301 inclusive.

 

Requirement: Carry out the following in accordance with Pilatus PC12 Service Bulletin No. 71-004 dated 22 December 1999.

 

Inspect the torque oil pressure and Py pressure tube/pipe assemblies, installed on the engine, for,

 

(a)     abrasive damage and distortion, replacing any defective tube/pipe found with a new tube/pipe; and

 

(b)     adequate clearance between the individual tube/pipe assemblies and the surrounding components, adjusting, as necessary, the tube/pipe assemblies to achieve the required clearance.

 

Note: Swiss FOCA AD HB 2000-007 refers.

 

Compliance: Within 10 days or 25 hours time-in-service after the effective date of this AD. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 27 January 2000.

Background: Abrasive damage (chafing) of the torque pressure and Py pressure tube/pipe assemblies has been found on three PC-12 aeroplanes.
