AD/PA-46/8 Turbocharger Oil Scavenge Reservoir

Inspection/Modification, and Lower Cowl Modification


4/85 TX

 

Applicability: All models PA 46-310P with S/Nos as detailed in the Requirement Document. Requirement:               Piper SB No 790A.

Compliance: Part 1 of Requirement Document

 

Unless already accomplished, before further flight after 11 March 1985 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 10 hours time in service until modified by installation of reservoir Part No 646954 or 646955.

 

Part 2 and 3 of Requirement Document

 

Prior to the issue of the next maintenance release after 11 March 1985.

 

Background: An inflight engine failure has been reported by the manufacturer after an incident when complete separation of the turbocharger oil scavenger reservoir resulted in total loss.
