Piper PA-46 (Malibu) Series Aeroplanes
AD/PA-46/12 Alternate Air Control Linkage 1/87
Applicability: Piper PA-46 aircraft which have complied with Service Letter No 985 Part II, dated 18 April 1986.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Piper Service Bulletin No 852.
Compliance: Unless previously accomplished, prior to the issue of the next Maintenance Release after 31 January 1987.
Background: The manufacturer has determined through engineering tests that conditions may exist that would prevent selection of alternate induction air when the primary air source is cut off. Two reports of engine power loss have been attributed to this condition.
