Piper PA-42 (Cheyenne III) Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/PA42/17 Main Landing Gear Actuator Attachment Bolt 8/88

Applicability: PA42-1000 S/Nos 42-5527001 and subsequent. Requirement:  Action in accordance with Piper SB 885.

Compliance: 1. For aircraft with more than 500 hours total time in service as of 11 August 1988.

 

Prior to the next inspection for Maintenance Release issue after 11 August 1988 and thereafter every 500 hours time in service.

 

2. For aircraft with less than 500 hours total time in service as of 11 August 1988.

 

Prior to achieving 500 hours total time in service and thereafter every 500 hours time in service.

 

Background:  The manufacturer has received reports of bolt failure. Failure of this bolt could result in an inability to retract or extend the effected MLG.
