AD/PA-38/26 Carburettor Air Box Valve 12/86
Applicability: PA-38-112 series, with serial numbers 38-78A0001 through 38-82A0122. Requirement: Action in accordance with Piper Service Bulletin No. 851.
Compliance: Unless previously accomplished, at the next periodic inspection after 31 December 1986.
Background: The manufacturer has received reports of screws vibrating loose in the carburettor air box valve assembly. This can result in loss of carburettor heat control, loss of engine power in flight and/or ingestion of loose fasteners into the engine.
