Piper PA-34 (Seneca) Series Aeroplanes
AD/PA-34/47 Nose Gear Hydraulic Actuator Mount Assembly 3/96
Applicability: All Model PA-34 aircraft with a nose gear hydraulic actuator aluminium alloy mount assembly, part number 95724-000 or 95724-002 installed, or any locally manufactured assembly.
Requirement: Visually inspect the nose gear hydraulic actuator mount assembly in the area where the nose gear hydraulic actuator link bracket attaches; for cracking or other damage.
Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service after 29 February 1996, and thereafter at each inspection for maintenance release issue; until a manufacturer supplied steel type mount assembly is installed.
Background: Several recent local reports of nose gear collapse have been received. An investigation revealed that failure of the gear actuator mount bracket had caused the collapse.
