AD/PA-23/52 Navigation Light Wiring Through Tip Tank - Inspection

Applicability: All models PA23-160 and PA23-235 and PA23-250 fitted with Met-Co-Aire wing tip tanks.
Requirement: Ensure the navigation light wiring is connected correctly through the tip tank as follows:
Connect a voltmeter or test lamp between the fuel filler neck and the aircraft structure and switch on the navigation lights.
If the voltmeter does not register or the test lamp does not light, the wiring is connected correctly.
If the voltmeter does register or test lamp lights remove the tip tank and rectify the system.
Note: For bonding purposes the fuel filler neck is normally connected to the same lead that forms the earth for the navigation light.
Compliance: Within 25 hours time in service after 31 May 1972 and thereafter whenever a wing tip tank is fitted to the wing.
