Amdt 2

Applicability: Model P68 Series.

Stabiliser Drive Horn 9/92

Requirement: 1. Action in accordance with Partenavia SB P68-87 Revision 1.

2. Check the reference lines and the bolt torque in accordance with Partenavia SB P68-87 Revision 1.

Note: RAI AD 92-077 refers.

Compliance: 1. Unless already accomplished; within 50 hours time in service after 20 August 1992, and thereafter at intervals not to exceed 200 hours time in service.

2. Recheck the reference lines and the bolt torque within 25 hours time in service after the accomplishment of Requirement 1, or, within 25 hours time in service after 20 August 1992 if Requirement 1 is already accomplished.

The compliance of the previous issue of this Directive was:

Within 200 hours time in service after 21 May 1992, and thereafter at intervals not to exceed 200 hours time in service. This Amendment is effective from 20 August 1992.

Background: An accident has occurred and has been attributed to lack of pitch control caused by slippage of the stabiliser drive horn on the stabiliser torque tube.

Amendment 1 was raised to align this Directive with the relevant Country of Origin AD requirements.

Amendment 2 is issued to align this Directive with a revision of the Requirement Document which requires a more specific bolt torque and a new safety screw of a different material.
