SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 



Maule M-7 Series Aeroplanes

 

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE


For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

 

AD/ML-M7/3 Nicopress Sleeves on Control Cables 7/2000 DM

Applicability: All models M7, MX7, MT7, MXT7, and M8; all serial numbers, except those future production serial numbers listed at Page 2 of the Requirement document.

 

Requirement: Action in accordance with Maule SB No. 20 dated 27 December 1999 for the following:

 

1. a. M-7-235 S/Nos 4001C to 4077C, 4079C, 4081C, 4082C, 4084C, 4085C,

4087C, and 4088C;

 

b. MX-7-235 S/Nos 12001C and 12002C with STC SA2661SO (model M-7-420);

 

c. MX-7-235 S/Nos 10001C to 10080C;

 

d. MX-7-180 S/Nos 11001C to 11065C;

 

e. MX-7-420 S/Nos 13001C to 13003C; and

 

2.    All other models and Serial Numbers.

 

Note: FAA AD 2000-09-06 refers.

 

Compliance: For those aircraft grouped under:

 

  1. sub paragraph 1. above, within 100 hours time in service after the effective date of this directive, or

 

b.    sub paragraph 2. above, within 25 hours time in service after the effective date of this directive.

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 7 June 2000.

Background:  There have been reports of cable slipping from the nicopress sleeve. Maule determined that one of their tools was incorrectly set.
