SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AlliedSignal (Lycoming) Turbine Engines - LTS 101 Series
AD/LTS/13 Improved Power Turbine Retention 9/96
Applicability: LTS101-650B1, -750B1, -650C and -750C turboshaft engines.
Requirement: 1. To prevent a power turbine overspeed and an uncontained engine failure, install an improved power turbine retention system and improved power turbine rotor assembly in accordance with the following AlliedSignal (formerly Textron Lycoming) Service Bulletins:
(a) LTS 101B-72-50-0122 Revision 4, or
(b) LTS 101B-72-50-0116 Revision 6, or
(c) LTS 101C-72-50-0119 Revision 2 as applicable, and
2. Install an improved electronic power turbine rotor overspeed controller in accordance with the following AlliedSignal (formerly Textron Lycoming) Service Bulletins:
(a) LTS 101B-73-10-0127 Revision 2, or
(b) LTS 101C-73-10-0129 Revision 3 as applicable.

Note 2. The requirements of this Directive constitute a terminating action for CAO 106 AD/LTS/9 Amdt. 2.

Compliance: Effective 15 August 1996:
Requirement 1. At the next engine shop visit after the effective date of this directive which involves the removal of the power turbine rotor, but no later than 31 December 1997.
Requirement 2. Concurrent with CAO Part 105 Airworthiness Directives AD/JBK117/9 or AD/GBK117/7 or AD/BELL 222/19 as applicable, at the next scheduled 600 hour airframe inspection after the effective date of this directive, but no later than 31 December 1997.
