SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

Gates Learjet 35 and 36 Series Aeroplanes

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

AD/LEARJET 35/36 Spoiler Actuators  3/2000 DM

Applicability: Model 35 and 35A aeroplanes, serial numbers 35-065, 35-242, 35-300, 35-323, 35-

447, 35-622 and 35-670.

Requirement: Determine by visual inspection the serial number of the installed spoiler actuators and if the serial number is listed in Learjet Service Bulletin SB 35-27-36, dated 14 December 1998 replace the spoiler actuator with a new actuator in accordance with the service bulletin.

Note: FAA AD 99-23-19 refers.

Compliance: Within 150 flight hours after the effective date of this AD.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 27 January 2000.

Background:  Failure of a spoiler actuator has occurred which could result in the spoiler panel floating and inducing an uncommanded roll of the aeroplane.
