Compliance: 1. For those aeroplanes which have achieved 3000 hours time in service - within 100 hours time in service after 31 March 1980.

2. For those aeroplanes which have not achieved 3000 hours time in service - before achieving 3000 hours time in service.

Background: If the cabin door locking mechanism fails during the door closing operation this fact will not be apparent to the crew and a door “unsafe” condition could exist.
