SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE


For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

 

Pratt and Whitney Turbine Engines - JT9D Series

 

AD/JT9D/36 LPT 5th Stage Disc - Inspection 7/2002

 

Applicability: Pratt and Whitney JT9D series engines as specified in FAA AD 2002-07-04. Requirement:              Action in accordance with the requirements of FAA AD 2002-07-04.

Note: FAA AD 2002-07-04 Amdt 39-12698 refers.

Compliance: As detailed in the requirement document with a revised effective date of 11 July 2002.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 11 July 2002.

 

Background: In-complete blend repairs on LPT 5th stage disc has resulted in uncontained engine failure. Limitations and inspections mandated per this AD helps to prevent such failures.
