Door Locking Mechanism Taper Pin 1/93
Applicability: Model 3100 and 3200 Series with Main Passenger/Crew Door serial numbers listed in BAe Jetstream ASB 52-A-JA 911140 Revision 2.
Requirement: Action in accordance with BAe Jetstream Mandatory ASB 52-A-JA 911140 Revision 2.
Note: Aircraft on which a previous issue of this SB has already been accomplished, require no further work.
Compliance: Unless already accomplished; prior to 31 July 1992.
The compliance of the previous issue of this Directive remains unchanged. This Amendment is effective from 7 January 1993.
Background: During installation of a passenger/crew door, it was discovered that the taper pin retaining the indicator button assembly to the locking dog had been inadvertently omitted on production of the door mechanism. The absence of the pin could result in loosening of the outer handle indicator button and inability to open the door from the outside. Amendment 1 is issued in response to the latest issue of the Requirement Document which deletes an incorrect diagram and dimensions.
