SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE


For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/JETSTREAM/21 Amdt 2 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Main Landing Gear Pintle Housing 10/2003

 

 

Applicability: Model Jetstream Series 3100 aircraft, fitted with main landing gears as defined in BAe (Dynamics) Limited Service Bulletin 32-19 and APPH Service Bulletin 32-40.

 

Requirement: Inspect in accordance with BAE Systems Mandatory Service Bulletin 32-A- JA851226 Revision 4.

 

Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document.

 

This Amendment becomes effective on 2 October 2003.

 

Background: The manufacturer received reports of cracks in the yoke pintle housing for the landing gear attachment spigot of the main leg forging. Cracks have been attributed to stress corrosion.

 

Amendment 2 changed applicability and introduced a terminating action.

 

Amendment 3 is issued in response to the latest revision of the Requirement document, which introduces an APPH service bulletin that requires NDT inspections of affected pintle housings of the main landing gear.

 

Amendment 2 of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 21 March 1991.

 

The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 20 November 1987.
