Applicability: All model 269A, 269A-1, 269B and 269C helicopters fitted with Part No. 269A5593- 3, 269A5573-11 OR 269A5573-903 “H” frame assemblies incorporating a P/No.

269A5517-7 aluminium tie bar bracket.

 

Document: Hughes Service Information N-184.

 

Compliance: Daily inspection until fitment of P/No. 269A5517-13 steel tie bar bracket in accordance with Part 2 of the requirement document.

 

Note: For aircraft maintained in accordance with ANO 100.5.1 this Directive shall be entered on the maintenance release as maintenance required. The inspection may be performed by the pilot in command, in which case certification is not required. In all other cases certification may be made on the maintenance release. This inspection may also be performed and certified by any Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

 

Background: The manufacturer advises that there have been numerous reports of cracked aluminium tie bar brackets and that a daily inspection is required until fitment of the recommended steel bracket assembly.
