AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AD/HS 125/167 Turbine Air Discharge and Water Separator Ducts

Applicability: Model BAe 125 800A, 1000A, and 1000B series aeroplanes, and Hawker 800 aeroplanes, up to and including serial number 258406; and Hawker 800XP series aeroplanes, up to and including serial number 258483, and 1000 series aeroplanes.
Requirement: 1. For Model BAe.125 series 800A series aeroplanes; Hawker 800 aeroplanes up to and including serial number 258406; and Hawker 800XP series aeroplanes up to and including serial number 258459:
Unless accomplished previously, remove the clamps, bedding tapes, and rubber connecting sleeves at the ends of the air turbine discharge duct and the water separator, and replace the clamps and rubber connecting sleeves with new, improved components, in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions of Raytheon Service Bulletin SB 21-3377, Revision 1, dated July 2000.
2. For Model Hawker 800XP series aeroplanes having serial numbers 258460 to 258483; Model BAe.125 series 1000A/1000B aeroplanes; and Hawker 1000 series aeroplanes:
Unless accomplished previously, remove the aluminium bedding strips from the air conditioning duct sleeves attached to both ends of the turbine air discharge duct and at the outlet end of the water separator, in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions of Raytheon Service Bulletin SB 21-3414, Revision 1, dated July 2000.
Previous action and Terminating action:
For certain aeroplanes, actions described in the original issue of Raytheon Service Bulletin SB 21-3377 may have been accomplished prior to the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive and are not required to be repeated. However, any action described in Raytheon Service Bulletin SB 21-3377, Revision 1, dated July 2000; or Raytheon Service Bulletin SB 21-3414, Revision 1, dated July 2000, that has not been accomplished on those aeroplanes must be accomplished in accordance with this Airworthiness Directive. Accomplishment of the actions specified in both Raytheon Service Bulletin SB 21-3377, Revision 1, dated July 2000; and Raytheon Service Bulletin SB 21-3414, Revision 1, dated July 2000, is terminating action for the requirements of this Airworthiness Directive.

Compliance: For Requirement 1 and 2: Within 100 hours time-in-service or, two months after the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive, whichever occurs first.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 10 April 2002.
Background: The manufacturer reported that air conditioning clamps and connecting sleeves that connect the water separator and turbine discharge duct have come loose. Should either of these ducts become disconnected, it will result in loss of air supply to maintain adequate cabin pressure. Loss of adequate cabin pressure at high altitude would require emergency procedures to be used, such as use of oxygen, auxiliary pressurisation, or emergency descent. This Airworthiness Directive therefore requires the replacement of existing clamps, bedding tapes and sleeves with new improved components that will prevent clamp slippage and subsequent duct disconnection.
