Power Plant Fire Protection - Modification 1/82
Applicability: All models.
Requirement: 1. Replace all fuel and oil system rigid pipe lines not manufactured from steel or a copper base alloy and fitted forward of the firewall, with rigid pipe lines manufactured from steel or copper base alloy.
2. Replace all free hose used to connect lengths of rigid pipe lines of the fuel and oil system forward of the firewall with approved fire resistant hose retained by steel hose clamps.
3. All flexible hose routed through the firewall shall be rendered fire resistant.
Note: The modification requirements of paras. 1 and 2 need not apply to breather, vent or drain lines, the failure of which will not result in, or add to, a fire hazard.
Compliance: Forthwith.
Background: The previous paragraph 3 of this Directive has been deleted due to the removal from ANO 101.22 of the requirement to replace free hose and clamp assemblies.
