Extra EA-300 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/EXTRA/6 Rudder Pedal Safety Control Stop 4/96 DM

Applicability: EA-300: All serial numbers fitted with an electrically actuated rudder pedal adjustment mechanism manufactured up until November 1995,

 

EA-300/S serial numbers 001 to 028, and EA-300/L serial numbers 001 to 015.

Requirement: Action in accordance with Extra Flugzeugbau GmbH SB-300-3-95.

 

Note: LBA AD 95-443 refers.

 

Compliance: Prior to further flight after the effective date of this Directive; and then at the next inspection for Maintenance Release issue, or the 50 flight hour inspection, whichever occurs first; thereafter at each installation of a new rudder cable.

 

The effective date of this Directive is 31 January 1996.

 

Background: A secondary (safety) stop is fitted to protect the lower fitting of the brake system in case of rudder cable failure, and this should not be reached during normal operation.
