SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Eurocopter AS 350 (Ecureuil) Series Helicopters
AD/ECUREUIL/98 Fuel - Fuel Bleed Lever 6/2004
Applicability: Eurocopter AS 350 helicopter versions B, BA, BB, B1, B2, B3, D and EC 130 B4 helicopters, all pre-MOD 073239.
Requirement: 1. Modify the fuel bleed in accordance with the instructions detailed in paragraphs
2.B and 2.C of Eurocopter AS 350 Alert Service Bulletin (ASB) No. 28.00.16 dated 3 March 2004, or ASB 28A001 dated 3 March 2004 as applicable.
2. Do not fit pre-MOD 073239 fuel bleed levers.
Note: DGAC AD’s F-2004-033 and F-2004-034 refer.
Compliance: For Requirement 1: Within 100 flying hours or 6 months after the effective date of this Directive, whichever occurs first.
For Requirement 2: From the effective date of this Directive. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 10 June 2004.
Background: The loss of the fuel bleed lever in flight could lead to the lever colliding with the tail rotor.
