SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.


 

Eurocopter AS 350 (Ecureuil) Series Helicopters

 

AD/ECUREUIL/84 Hydraulic Fluid 7/2003 TX

 

Applicability: Eurocopter EC 130 B4 helicopters pre MOD 073718.

 

Requirement:

1.

Modify the labels on the hydraulic reservoirs in accordance with paragraph 2.B.1 of Eurocopter EC 130 Alert Telex (A/T) No 29A001.

 

2.

For helicopters using hydraulic fluid MIL-H-5606, drain and flush the hydraulic system and replenish the hydraulic system with MIL-H-83282 in accordance with

 

 

paragraph 2.B.2 of Eurocopter A/T No. 29A001.

 

3.

For reservoirs held as spares, modify the labels in accordance with paragraph

 

 

2.B.1 of Eurocopter EC 130 A/T 29A001.

Compliance:

1.

Before the next flight.

 

2.

Within 50 flight hours from the effective date of this Directive.

 

3.

Prior to installation.

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 28 May 2003.

 

Background: The EC 130B4 helicopter is not certificated for use with MIL-H-5056 hydraulic fluid.
