SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 



Bombardier (Boeing Canada/De Havilland) DHC-8 Series Aeroplanes

 

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE


For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability: Models 102, 103, and 301, serial numbers 003 through 146, excluding serial numbers

064 and 137.

 

Requirement: Repair flight deck structural angle in accordance with Bombardier Service Bulletin 8- 53-75 which provides instructions for incorporation of Repair RD8-53-3620.

 

Note: Transport Canada AD CF-2000-21 refers.

 

Compliance: Before 15 March 2002, unless already accomplished.

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 2 November 2000.

 

Background: An incident of uncommanded roll control disconnect occurred on landing in turbulent conditions. Investigation revealed that a structural angle interfered with the clevis of the roll control disconnect cable, resulting in disconnection of the roll control.
