SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


DHC-2 (Beaver) Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/DHC-2/13 Wing - Inspection and Modification 3/66 Applicability:  All models which are, or have at any time been, engaged in agricultural operations. Requirement:  1. Inspection:

Carry out an internal inspection for cracking of the wing lower surface in the region of Rib Station 110 (Wing Station 137). Pay particular attention to:

 

(a)     the wing skin at the outboard rivet line of the chordwise skin joint for a distance of 10 inches forward and aft of the spar; and

 

(b)     the lower aft flange of the spar and the spar boom on the lower forward face of the spar.

 

Use visual and fluorescent penetrant methods for carrying out this inspection. If cracks are discovered the wing shall be repaired to an approved repair scheme.

 

2. Modification (applicable only to wings which are not cracked in the area described in para. 1). Reinforce the wing lower surface in accordance with DH Canada Drawing C2Z-3111.

 

Note: In order to carry out the inspection and modification it will be necessary to remove portions of the upper wing skin. Hawker De Havilland Australia should be contacted for advice on this and for copies of the reference drawing.
