AD/DH 82/3 Rudder Bar Attachment Spigot - Modification NK

Applicability: All models.

Requirement: 1. Modify the front and rear rudder bars by re-locating the connecting rod locking pins so that they cannot become unclipped or jammed by fouling the control box.

2.    An approved method of effecting this modification is as follows:

(a)     Drill a No. 50 hole at 90o to the existing athwartships holes in the front and rear rudder bar connecting rod attachment spigots. Ensure that the new holes are located centrally below the existing holes, sufficiently clear of the rudder bar connecting rod to permit free fitment of the locking pins in a fore and aft direction.

(b)     Plug the existing holes with suitable wire rivets.

(c)     When installing the rudder bar connecting rod, lock up the ends on to the rudder bar spigots with AGS No. 1551 Mk. 3 locking pins.

3. ANO 105.1.14.5.5.3.
