SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

 


AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.


 

Eurocopter SA 360 and SA 365 (Dauphin) Series Helicopters

 

AD/DAUPHIN/73 Main Rotor Drive Gear Box Oil Pressure 11/2004

 

Applicability: AS 365 N3 helicopters, equipped with a main gearbox (MGB) part number (P/N) 365A32-6002-XX or P/N 365A32-6004-XX or P/N 365A32-9001-XX, fitted with a

dual pump MGB lubrication system.

 

Requirement: If not previously accomplished, check the electrical connections of the MGB oil pressure switches in accordance with paragraph 2.B. of the Eurocopter Alert Telex

63.00.12 dated 4 August 2004 or later approved version.

 

Note: DGAC AD F-2004-154 (EASA Approval 2004-9029) refers.

 

Compliance: Within the next 110 hours time in service after the effective date of this Directive or before 28 January 2005 (whichever occurs first).

 

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 28 October 2004.

 

Background: The Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile of France has received a report of crossed connection of the low-pressure switch of the MGB main lubrication system with the low-pressure switch of the MGB auxiliary lubrication system. This condition if not corrected, will lead to illumination of the failure warning light that corresponds to the auxiliary system. If this occurs, the pilot would not follow the appropriate Aircraft Flight Manual procedures in the event of a failure of the main system.

 

This Directive requires the electrical connections of the MGB oil pressure switches to be checked for cross wiring.

Overview
