Retirement Life - Fatigue Critical Components 9/90
Applicability: All SA 365 series.
Requirement: All service life limited components shall be retired from service at or before the times shown in the SA365 series Master Servicing Recommendations, Section 5.99 (Edition 1, Revision 17), except that main rotor sleeve beams P/Nos 365A31.1831.00, .01, .02 and .03, and 365A31.1851.00 and .01, shall be retired from service before the accumulation of 2000 hours component time in service.
Note 1: The issue and revision quoted above refer to the Airworthiness Limitations (Section 5.99) only, rather than the MSR as a whole.
Note 2: For the purposes of retirement life determination, flight cycles shall be calculated in accordance with Aerospatiale Service Bulletin SA 365(C) No 01.20.
Compliance: Forthwith.
Background: Aerospatiale telex service No 01.19 (25th AD Revision 1) has reduced the retirement life of the main rotor sleeve beams from 3,000 to 2,000 hours. The manufacturer plans to introduce a modification at a later date which may restore the fatigue life of the sleeve beams. Operators are therefore advised to quarantine, rather than destroy, any retired parts.
Amendment 6 updates the revision status of the Master Servicing Recommendations.
