SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Pacific Aerospace Corporation Cresco Series Aeroplanes

AD/CRESCO/3 Elevator Tip Rib 11/2002 DM

Applicability: Cresco 08-600 series aircraft that have not been modified by either PAC/CR/0251 or PAC/CR/0406.

Requirement: Inspect in accordance with Pacific Aerospace Corporation Service Bulletin PACSB/CR/030 Issue 2.

If cracks are found, before further flight, repair in accordance with the Requirement document.

Note 1: Incorporation of modification specified in SB PACSB/CR/030 is considered terminating action for the repeat inspection requirement of this Directive.

Note 2: NZ CAA AD DCA/CRESCO/3 refers.

Compliance: Within 50 hours time in service after 4 September 2002. Thereafter at intervals not to exceed 100 hours time in service.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 4 September 2002.

Background: Field experience indicates that cracking of the components of the elevator tip (end

rib- mass balance, elevator rib, or spar-outer) can occur. Such cracking of the elevator tip components could result in loss of the elevator tip, with a resultant reduction in pitch control.
