SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Bombardier (Canadair) CL-600 (Challenger) Series Aeroplanes

AD/CL-600/54 CL-600-2B19 “RJ” Overwing Exit Placards 7/2002

Applicability:  CL-600-2B19 (Regional Jet) series aeroplanes serial numbers 7003 through 7434, 7436 through 7442, 7444 through 7452, 7454 through 7458, 7460 through 7497 and

7499 through 7504.

Requirement:  Replace the existing overwing exit placards and install new placards in accordance with Bombardier Service Bulletin A601R-11-077, Revision A, dated 11 December 2001.

Note: Transport Canada AD CF-2002-12 refers.

Compliance: Before 11 July 2003.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 11 July 2002.

Background: FAA investigation revealed that the instructions pictured on the overwing emergency exit placard are confusing and may cause difficulties in opening and disposal of the exit hatch.
