SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

Bombardier (Canadair) CL-600 (Challenger) Series Aeroplanes

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

AD/CL-600/41 Fire Warning Control Unit 3/2001

Applicability: CL-600-2B19 “Regional Jet” aircraft, serial numbers 7003 through 7067, 7069 through 7422.

Requirement: Install protective sealing tape to the Fire and Overheat Control Unit in accordance with Bombardier Alert Service Bulletin A601R-26-017, Revision A.

Note: Transport Canada AD CF-2000-35 refers.

Compliance: Within 250 flying hours or 30 days after the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive, whichever occurs first.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 21 February 2001.

Background: Investigation into false engine and APU fire warnings determined the cause to be fluid contamination in the fire and overheat control unit.
