SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Cirrus Design Series Aeroplanes
AD/CIRRUS/1 Elevator Torque Tube and Rudder Hinge 2/2002
Applicability: Model SR20 with serial numbers 1134 through 1159. Model SR22 with serial numbers 0003 through 0119.
Requirement: Inspect in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions section of Cirrus Design Service Bulletin SB 20-55-06 or SB 22-55-03, as applicable; issued 27 November 2001.
If an under strength rivet is found, before further flight, replace it with a new rivet, part number MS20470AD4, or FAA-approved equivalent part number.
Part number MS20470A4 rivets are not to be installed.

Compliance: Within 10 hours time in service after 21 February 2002, unless already accomplished.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 21 February 2002.
Background: The FAA received notification from the manufacturer that under strength rivets were mixed in production supplies. Under strength rivets, if installed, could result in failure of the control surface.
