SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

Cessna 400 Series Aeroplanes

AD/CESSNA 400/106 Passenger Seat Installations 3/96

Applicability: Cessna Model 404 aircraft fitted with more than 9 passenger seats.

Requirement: Examine the aircraft records to determine whether the modification to install the additional passenger seats (over the original 9) has been approved by this Authority or an appropriately Authorised Person.

If the installation is found to have no approval, either remove seats from the aircraft or obtain approval from a CAR Authorised Person. Prepare an amendment to the Flight Manual to include a maximum number of occupants which is equal to the number of approved seats in accordance with CAO 20.16.3 sub-section 3.1.

Compliance: Before 30 June 1996.

Background: Some Cessna 404 aircraft have been modified with additional seats similar to approved installations on another aircraft. However, no specific approval was obtained. This Directive is raised to ensure that inappropriate seat installations are removed and that approvals for appropriate installations are recorded.
