Cessna 337 Series Aeroplanes

 

AD/CESSNA 337/23 Battery Lid Retaining Channel - Modification 8/77

Applicability: Model 337 with S/Nos. prior to 33701463.

 

Requirement: 1. Inspect the landing gear hydraulic lines in the vicinity of the battery for damage caused by electric arcing between the battery lid retaining channel and the positive terminal of the battery. Replace any line showing arcing damage.

 

2. Insulate the battery lid retaining channel with nylex sheathing or similar material and install protective rubber terminal ends (P/N MS25171-35 or similar) to the battery lead ends.

 

Note: Rex Aviation Technical Memo TM-43 also refers to this problem.
