Amdt 1

Fuel Selector Off Warning System 1/87

Applicability: All Cessna Caravan I models 208/208A, serial numbers 20800001 through 20800105. Requirement:               Action in accordance with:

  1. Cessna S.B. CAB 86-8.

2.    Cessna S.B. CAB 86-26.

Note: FAA AD 86-22-06 refers.

Compliance: Unless already accomplished, prior to the issue of the next Maintenance Release after 28 February 1987.

Background: 1. Accident investigations in the U.S.A. have revealed fuel starvation during take-off due to improper positioning of fuel tank selectors. Consequently a warning system has been designed which indicates to the pilot fuel tank selector position and fuel tank low level condition, and provides a more appropriate level of safety in respect of turbine engine fuel system design requirements.

2. This amendment adds S.B. CAB 86-26 to improve the integrity of the low fuel level warning system, by the addition of a lock washer and sealant to ensure transmitter nut retention.
