Amdt 2


Airframe - Inspection, Modification and Retirement 9/99

 

Applicability: For Paras. 1 and 2 of the requirement all models incorporating wing centre sections with more than 3000 hours time in service and which are not modified in accordance with C.A.C. SB No. 42.

 

For Para. 3 of the requirement all models.

 

Requirement: 1. Inspect the centre section spars in accordance with C.A.C. Service Bulletin No. 42.

 

Note 1: Particular care must be taken to mask the edges of the composite spar cap before applying paint stripper.

 

2.    Modify the centre Section spars in accordance with C.A.C. Service Bulletin No. 42.

 

3.    Retire the aircraft from service.

 

Note 2: Inspections/Modifications performed in accordance with AD/CA-28/6 Amdt 1 satisfy the requirements of this Directive.

 

Compliance: For Para. 1: Within 250 hours time in service after 25 November 1969.

 

For Para. 2: For aircraft incorporating centre sections from production aircraft S/Nos. 1 & 2 - within 250 hours time in service.

 

For aircraft incorporating centre sections from production aircraft S/Nos. 3 and subsequent - within 500 hours time in service after 25 November 1969.

 

For Para. 3: On or before achieving 14000 hours total time in service. This Amendment becomes effective on 9 September 1999.

Background Amendment 1 of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 31 May 1977.

 

The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 25 November 1969.
