SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES

AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/BN-2/29 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Amdt 2

Left and Right Rudder Bar Pillar and Slider Tube Assemblies

9/2002

Applicability: Model BN2A aircraft.

Requirement: Inspect in accordance with B-N Group Ltd. Mandatory Service Bulletin SB 111 Issue 2.

Compliance: As specified in the Requirement document.

This Amendment becomes effective on 5 September 2002.

Background: There have been instances of failure of the pilot’s rudder bar due to fractures of the central pillar/slider tube, adjacent to the welded transverse lugs. This defect had not appeared in the co-pilot’s (or dual) rudder bar installation and these dual rudder bar assemblies were exempt from examination at Issue 1 of the Requirement document. Following a recent discovery of this defect in a co-pilot’s rudder bar installation, Issue 2 of the Requirement document includes both left and right hand assemblies.
