AD/BELL 212/41 Pitch Change Link Universal 11/89

Applicability: All models fitted with universals P/N 204-011-128-1 after 1 April 1989.

 

Requirement: Carry out a one time inspection of the P/N 204-011-128-1 universal for staking marks around each bearing face. If the universal has 6 staking marks around each bearing remove from service and destroy universal.

 

Note: Bell OSN 212-89-19 refers.

 

Compliance: By 30 September 1989. Thereafter prior to installation.

 

Background: The U.S. Army has detected cracks, due to hydrogen embrittlement, around the staking marks used to retain bearings within the universal.
