Applicability: All model 206A, 206B and 206B-JR111 helicopters with Serial Nos 4 through 3818, 3821 through 3848, and 3851 through 3856, Model 206B-1 helicopters.
All model 206A helicopters equipped with dual control kits, P/N 206-706-006-3, -5,
-7.
All model 206L, 206L-1, and 206L-3 helicopters with serial numbers 51001 through 51128, 51130 through 51138, and 51140 through 51142.
All Agusta Bell AB206A and AB206B helicopters and all Agusta Bell AB 206A helicopters equipped with dual control kit Part No. 206-706-006 (All dashes).
Requirement: Bell Alert Service Bulletin 206-85-29.

Compliance: Unless already accomplished in accordance with the initial issue of this Directive, within 25 hours time in service after 31 November 1985 thereafter, for both Bell and Agusta Bell helicopters, at intervals not exceeding 600 hours time in service or 24 months whichever occurs first.
Background: An incident has been reported of a cyclic control stick failing while the pilot was performing his pre-flight checks. The fracture, which occurred at the base of the stick tube, has been attributed to low cycle fatigue and corrosion.
