SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Bell Helicopter Textron Canada (BHTC) 206 and Agusta Bell 206 Series Helicopters
AD/BELL 206/151 Memcor Truohm Magnetic Brake 12/2002
Applicability: Bell Helicopter Textron Canada models 206L-1 and Bell 206L-3 with IFR kits part number 206-705-001, -101, -103 installed.
Requirement: Carry out a one time inspection, and repair if required in accordance with Bell Helicopter Textron Alert Service Bulletin 206L-01-122.
Note : Canadian AD CF 2002-16 refers.
Compliance: Unless previously accomplished within 100 flight hours from the effective date of this Directive.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 28 November 2002.
Background: There have been reports of adjustable stop screws backing out of the magnetic switch, manufactured by Memcor Truohm, which will limit the travel of the arm assembly on the magnetic brake. This could lead to limited travel of the flight controls.
