Driveshaft Seal  2/93 TX

 

Applicability: All Model 206A, 206BII, 206BIII, 206L-1, 206L-3 and Agusta Bell AB206A and AB206B Helicopters fitted with driveshafts listed in the requirement documents.

 

Requirement: Action in accordance with:

 

  1. Bell machines: Bell Helicopter Alert Service Bulletin 206-91-61 or 206L-91-74 as applicable; and

 

2.    Agusta Bell machines: Agusta Bell Bollettino Tecnico 206-205 dated 20 July 1992.

 

Compliance: As specified in the requirement documents with an effective date of 28 December 1992.

 

Background: Due to possible damage of the seal assembly P/N 206-040-276-101 or 206-040-272- 101, inspection of the driveshaft for grease leakage is required. Grease loss could result in driveshaft failure and loss of rotor drive. This amendment adds Agusta Bell machines to this Directive.
