Main Rotor Flight Control System Bolts 8/90

 

Applicability: All model Bell Helicopter Textron Canada (BHTC) 206 and Agusta Bell 206 Series Helicopters.

 

Requirement: Action in accordance with Bell Alert Service Bulletin 206-89-48, 206L-89-61 or Agusta Bell Service Bulletin 206-190 as applicable.

 

Compliance: 1. For Bell 206 and 206L series - At the next inspection for issue of a Maintenance Release after 30 April 1990 or by 30 October 1990, whichever occurs first.

Thereafter, reinspect at intervals not exceeding 24 calendar months.

 

2. For Agusta Bell 206 series - At next inspection for issue of a Maintenance Release after 30 September 1990 or by 28 February 1991, whichever occurs first. Thereafter, reinspect at intervals not exceeding 24 calendar months.

 

Background: Bell has advised that some of the rotating control bolts have been found corroded, fretting and/or with excessive wear on the bolt shank. This amendment adds the Agusta 206 series to this Directive.
